Books

I love to read, always have. It is a way for me to dream and experience new things. Things that maybe I aren't able to do in the real world. It is away to be someone else, something more, for a while.  The things that I read is always changing but mostly it is fantasy or romance (or both). If you ask me it is impossible to mention a favorite book because there are so many wonderful ones out there. But right now I like books with a strong heroine so a lot of the things I read now is urban fantasy and fantasy romance because it is easier to find these heroines there than in high fantasy.

David Eddings Elenium in Swedish
Even if I can't mention some specific books that are my favorites I have a couple of authors that is important in my life. First an foremost I want to mention David Eddings. He was a wonderful writer and his books have I read and re-read a zillion times. I particularity likes The Elenium series and the characters. Eddings had a way to write epic adventures together wit humor that I finds remarkable.

Tamora Pierce's The Song of the Lioness
An other author that is important to mention is Tamora Pierce who writes fiction for teen girls. I found her books as a teenager and it was love at first sight. Even if they takes plays in another world you find yourself as a reader understanding the difficulties of the main characters on all levels. I think it is here I found my liking for strong heroines, because almost all of Pierce's lead characters are women, strong ones at that, with all the troubles and worries a usual growing teen girl have besides there adventures in magic and war. I have bought almost all of her books in English and I still re-read them once in a while even if I am a little to old for them now. If I someday writes a book, I want my heroines to give the reader exactly the same thing as Alanna, Daine, Kel. Aly, Beka and the others have given me.

Nowadays I don't have the time to read and write that I want. I am a full time student and that comes with a price but my love for stories are still there and in the future it is going to get its rightful place in my schedule again! So check out my Goodreads-page for more info about what I am reading right now:
