I will probably not have time to write much this coming week, I will be have to fun celebrating Christmas with everyone I know. Tonight we visited my mother in law and started the Christmas-celebration with porridge together with my fiancés brothers. We also played some Nintendo land before we went home. Tomorrow we will have a traditional dinner at M's grandmas place and on Christmas day we will spend some time at his fathers. on Wednesday I will be travelling home to Söderhamn to visit my own family and will be there until Saturday when I take my sister with me home again.
So as you can understand I have a lot of things going on. But may be I will find some time to write something? Hopefully I will at least post one more text before new years ;)
So what more have I been doing? yesterday we cleaned the whole apartment so now everything is really nice. The Christmas tree looks good as well even if Quinn still wants to climb it. We have a lot of gifts underneath it.Today I spent some time finishing my crotched kittens and then I baked. I made a cake to take with us tomorrow. So looking forward to it! Soon it is time to sleep, so it will be tomorrow really soon!
Sometimes I have the most crazy, wonderful dreams. After a lot of animewatching yesterday I had a new one, really sweet. I wanted to share a piece of it with you after writing it down this morning. But just so you know, everything was playing in my mine as a anime episode or a book story so the girl in it isnt really me even if I could really feel her emotions.
I have finaly started watching anime again! It has been so long sience the last time, I doesn't even remeber when. But I found a anime that really sounded nice and now I have watched all the episodes out yet.
The serie is called Say "I Love You" and is a sweet love story about a girl, Mei, who is really quiet and doesn't have a lot of friends and a guy, Yamato, who is really popular with the girl but haven't found the one yet. One day Mei explodes over another guys prank and she tries to roundhouse kick him but end up hitting Yamato instead. Yamato is surprised and starting to getting interesting in the wuiet Mei after the way he saw here emotions explode and he wants to get closer to her.
This is the start on there love story. The anime is a shojo with a lot of romance and a slice of life-feeling over it. Some maybe would think that it is boring just focusing on there relazionship but this is the kind of story that I can find so much feeling in. When the story is calm and sweet it is easy to compare your own feelings to the ones in the serie.
Another thing I like is the boldness that is lying underneath the story. Already in the first episode there is talk about sex and a lot of kissing going on. I really like a story that begins with kisses and not ends with it, it makes it more realistic and matches my thoughts about love.
So are you after a sweet love story with a lot of usual twists? watch Say "I Love You". I myself is maybe going to start reading the manga by Hazuki Kanaewhile I am waiting for the next episode on crunchyroll.
Yes, as I told you in the lucia-post I went to see The Hobbit. I have been looking forward to the movie since they only was rumours that it would be made. But i was also a bit afraid about the high frame rate I have heard so much about, like how it takes time to get used to and that you can get a bit nauseas. I was also afraid if they really would be able to fit three movies in one book without the story getting to thin. I didn't have to be so afraid!
It was beautiful really! The same feel that previous movies gave with awesome scenery and a interesting story. The high frame rate didn't make me feel nauseas at all but made the picture a lot clearer than it usually is, especially in a 3D movie. You could really see everything!
When it comes to the story everything was still really nicely done. It is obvious that there is going to be another, the main quest isn't done, and they had a great cliff hanger at the end. But still they really succeeded with getting all the things together in the story as well.
When it comes to characters I got especially happy about all the dwarfs, they are really funny and each individuality is really shown in the movie. They also succeed great with the game that Bilbo plays with Gollum and the way Gollum response.
I haven't read the book even if I have read the fellowship of the ring. I wasn't really that interested in it.But I still think I know one or two facts from it that I have picked up from friends and the movie matches my picture of the story really well. After I saw the movie I also want to read it, and I want to do so in English. So when I have money I am really going to buy a copy and try it out ^__^
Yesterday was December 13th, Lucia, and as the good swede that I am I baked. Saffransbullar or lussekatter or saffron buns if you like, it has a lot of different names but the main point is the saffron. The buns turned out really great, I dont thikn I ever made them that good before!
Unfortunately i didn't have the chance to see any Lucia-event yesterday but last Sunday I watched the coronation of Katrineholms Lucia (the official lucia in my hometown Katrineholm). So with this in mind I wanted to share two pictures with you.
Lucia in katrineholm (sorry for bad pic)
Lussekatter in different shapes
I really like the Lucia-tradition, we all need a little light in our darkness thes time of year.
Beside Lucia the countdown for Christmas is really going along. Unfortunately I haven had that much time to bake and cook but the Christmas tree is up (something that Quinn is really happy about) and the gifts is also almost finished. I have also bought the last ingredients for gingerbread today so maybe I will be making the dough tonight and bake it this weekend.
On a side note I am really looking forward to tonight, we are going to watch the Hobbit, a movie I have been really locking forward to! so hopefully I will post about it tomorrow.
Edit: A frined of mine sent this on facebook, I thought it worked in this post.
I have a lot of different things going on in my life but I still have some time to listen to music. Now i also found some time to write about it (or found... I should be studying right now but this is much more interesting to do!). I have been watching and listening to Kim Sung Kyu's 60 sec a lot recently and is really falling in love with it.
In the beginning the video is kind of hard to understand and a lot of different stories have been going around but I find one of them easier to understand than the rest. The songs title is 60 sec and in the video description you can read "60'' taken to fall in love, 60'' taken to fall out of love" and even if the English isn't really right you can understand the meaning anyway; that it can take 60 seconds to fall in love but also 60 seconds to fall out of love. Right? So the video is trying to explain this by letting Kim Sung Kyu fall in love at the first sight with the girl. The time freezes and he can see their future in his mind.
The chorus starts right there and the first lines can be translated to:
"60 seconds is all I need for this storyYou came into my heart, I don’t doubt it"
He then spend some time in the café thinking about how it could be, they being happy together at first. but he also realize that if they later on would break up it would be devastating, she turning him down by giving him back the ring.
In the café he can feel the sadness from this imaginary future and leaves the ring and tries to leave before it is to late. The girl tries to give him the ring that she things he forgot and at the same time as he declines it she also falls in love and can see how happy they could make each other. She becomes sad over the future that will never be. In that moment they share a love story that never got the chance to bloom.
Meeeuw! the video and the story is so sad and romantic an probably why i like it so much >.< The thought that a minute can make such a different is really appealing and at the same time devastating to me. It get me thinking what if about a lot of different things in my life...
Another thing that is important in the song and video is the way it tell a story about love as not only something great but also something sad when it ends. The end is so hurtful for all of us but at the same time it is the reason that love is so important. Think about it, love wouldn't be so wonderful if it wasn't so sensitive to everything else. One minute is all it takes to be over.
So as you can see, the message is all it took to win me over for this song. but beside that Kim Sung Kyu sings really well and the song is both hopeful and sad. The lightening and the setting of the videos is also great and makes it easier to access the feeling of the song and the video.
Of course you can criticizes some parts in the video, like how they portrait there happy-couple-times (a lot of the things they do in the video isn't something i would call really romantic, like poking each others forehead...) you can also criticizes it based on the story telling, you have to see the video a couple of times to really understand it. But I am a sucker for sad love-stories and thus I overall really do love it!
Damn what a great kpop year it has been! I am right now voting for the 2012 EYK Awards and a lot of the videos from 2012 are great! For example B.A.P with warrior that has become one of my personal favorites because it was newly released when me and my friends went to Paris in February and watched Music Bank. Or the new album by Big Bang? or G-dragons solo album with That XX, Crayon and other songs?
Not to mention all the good girl bands like T-ara and Sistar that really have grown on me this year (even if 2NE1 have been missed). Lee Hi's debut is also worth to mention. They are so many! and it is so great that they are getting the publicity they deserves. We have to than PSY for a lot of the publicity.
Even if this year isn't over yet (and neither are the nominees in the 2012 EYK Awards) I am still really looking forward to next year. Hopefully it can be even better or what do you think?
Even with such a hectic life as mine, there is still time to read. I have finally read through The Secret Garden for the first time and I love it! i have loved the story since I was little and saw the movie but it isn't before now I got the energy to read the book also.
The book is about the difficult child Mary who has grown up spoiled in India. When her parents dies she is send back to england and Misselthwaite manor in Yorkshire. She finds herself alone a lot and no one care for her temper and wishes anymore. There isn't so much to do than stay outside and play each day, and search for the secret garden she hears whispers about. Slowly, like the start of spring, she is starting to change for the better. Maybe she will find something else as well?
The story is wtitten in 1911 but is still interesting to read. It is filled with humor, magic and hope and a great story for both children and grown ups. It is a fabulous story that I really can commander.
Yes, it was over a week I posted my last post here. Sorry!
So much have been going on in my life. I have been working hard as a teacher candidate and spent a lot of time in school, the rest of the time has been spent on my homework.
But can you belive it, it is finally December! Soon it is christmas, my favorite holiday of the year! I have already been preparing for it by wrap some gifts, decorating my tree and the rest of the house. Just have some gifts left to buy and then I can concentrate on making sweets and stuff at home.
Here are some pictures of my christmas-themed home (dont forget you can click on them for bigger pictures):
