This past Saturday we went to IKEA to spend some of our money. IT was a lot of people there but it was a happy trip. I started to look forward to Christmas (even when it is two months left) when they started to sell Christmas decorations already. Christmas is my favorite holiday and one of the few good thing with winter. I can easily be looking forward, planing, decorating and shopping months before the holiday and don't care what my fiancé tells me.
I didn't buy anything really christmassy this time.. not beside the gingersnaps molds... Besides that it was just useful stuff for the apartment. We finally got two reading lamps for our bedroom, a full-length mirror and fames for some pictures. And of course some other small stuff... So we spent some time getting all the things on the right places in the appartment and of course Quinn decided that she wanted to be in the way all the time! >__< but I am happy with the result.
We also watched the first Indiana Jones-movie, did the laundry and played some Pokémon but maybe not in that order... I am on Victory Road in the game now, but I don't have the concentration to play for a long time, have so much to do besides gaming. For example school. Today I turned in my report, I am not that happy with it but maybe it will make me pass at least. Now I have to study a classmates report for the opposition and also get everything ready for my trip to Falun on Wednesday. Hopefully I also will be able to post some more here before that ^__^
My mind is kind of divided over this video, I like the song and the MV but on the other hand I don't know if this is the picture I have of B.A.P. The song is sweet and beautiful. They sing about how the girl doesn't have to wonder if they like her, because as they have told "her" many times they really do, It is about insecure love and of how important love is. A song that I really think would fit a band like Boyfriend, or SHINee or something. I am not to sure about how this fit B.A.P's image? For me B.A.P is all about the rap and the revolution but maybe I can't let go of that picture they med with WARRIOR, Power and No Mercy an such, even when they want to develop something new? For me this isn't something new, more like big step back for the band, however good looking they are... I want something more from my boy-bands!
But as I said, the video isn't bad, it is kind of funny actually. For once they get the whole all-members-on-the-same-girl-thing to work in some way. It is like all the members is in love with the teacher and is competing for her interest.I have to confess I have some trouble to tell the boys apart but I think it is Yong Guk who is the "ghost" in the video, the one that the girl can't see. He try to sabotage for his follow members because they all is in love with the girl. Exactly what he is I cant decide but he at first got me to think about a normal ghost, he got hit by a car, but later on i also thought about a dokkaebi and a gumiho... But non of them fits as well...
Then maybe the woman is the one with all the magical powers? All the member get smitten by her in a magical way, she do blow something like fairy dust on them, and they got tamed by there love.... Hmm... Is this the reason for the sudden change in style for the band? They were really crazy and bad boys and then this magical teacher woman cast a love spell on them, so that they falls in love with her and want to show there sincerity by stop there mischievous behavior, even if it some continues withe there rivality over her?
and the tail grabbing part at the end? is that her final attack at the Yong Guk? She strips him of his last powers and rebelliousness? to "stop it"? and then he wake up in a white simple room and a feather falls to the floor? is she an angel? send from heaven to get the boys act together? does this mean that B.A.P here forth will have a new and nicer image?
so many questions.. but is it true then i don't know if the band will continue to be one of my favorites? even if the video was interesting with a deep meaning I don't like the change in style. We can hope that the angel spell will be put down in the next video ^__^
I usually think of myself as a person with liberal and modern thoughts about most things, but when it comes to the royal family my romantic heart takes over. It doesn't matter how many tries to tell me that a system where anyone can inherit the title, just by being born into the right family, is outdated, my romantic heart can't see past the fantasy that royalty is a little bit special.
Not that I mean that they are more than normal people, they aren't worth more than anyone else, but I do think they are different in the meaning of uppbringing and the symbol they represent. Yes, I like fairytales! And because they don't really nowadays have any real power (they are just a symbol for the country) and they also try to modernize, for example so that a princess can inherit the throne, I can't see the harm in keeping them.
I started to think about this today after the royal court announced that princess Madeleine has gotten engage with Christopher O'Neill. I don't really know what kind of person he is but he looks handsome and everyone says that he is a really warm person, if so he is really a modern prince. I hope they will find a lot of happiness, both for themselves and for me, who will be able to keep on dreaming about my fairytale dreams.
Here is a video from the royal court with the statement from the happy couple.
Iron Man is maybe on of my favorite superhero when it comes to all these new movies. Tony Stark has humor and he isn't your usual hero-material but he still got that pure heart no matter how he behave. Now the official trailer for the third movie is out and it looks promising, so long they don't overdo it with all the special effects...
A friend on Facebook posted a link to some fun and really accurate pictures of how the gaming companies would work if they were your friend. She find the pictures on Svampriket, a swedish gaming blog, but they had taken them from Dorky so go there to see them ;)
Block B rocks again with Nillili Mamba (and crazy pirate theme and lyrics)!
Eat Your Kimchi did a review on this video for K-pop Music Monday's already and I can't make something better than that but I still wanted to post the video on the blog because... well, I love it a little! The song is just spinning in my head. I like the dark and a bit heavy beat and the pirate-feel that they really did success to add! Maybe this can even be something my fiancé like to listen to? he doesn't really care about k-pop (just have to listen to it when I play loud music at home) but he do like pirates ;)
here are the Eat Your Kimchi-review (and if you don't really follow them, subscribe now. They are awesome!)
HyunA is back! She is maybe the most well known of the members of 4minute, at least for me, and she is really fun and sexy most of the time. The MV Ice Cream is one of the track of her new mini album Melting and maybe is the most talkative because PSY is a guest star in it?
But beside PSY's and HyunA's continuing collaboration I want to talk about the video itself. As you all can understand she is singing about ice cream! And not just that, the lyrics is about how she is changeable as ice cream, with a lot of different flavours and sides, and also that she is going to get someone to melt like ice cream. Easily put, she is going to be as hot and interesting that everybody is going to melt for here.
the lyrics isn't really that sensational, a lot of girl band sing about stuff like this in a way of being sexy without saying the really sexy things out loud. I don't really know what I think about the lyrics, what can you be thinking? it is kind of main stream and the usual play with english words. It is not an important message, it is more shallow and I really don't like the way she sings for example about the diamond ring:
Ma diamond ring so bling bling
I’ll show you my sexy swag
One look at me and they all fall for me
You better surrender
It feels like she is a gold digger, she will show you here sexy side if you give here diamonds... Nothing I can relate to or like.
The video then? I hate the long intro, I almost always do. But I can understand why they wanted PSY in the video, he is really big right now and it is good PR to work together with someone like that.
When the video begins I cant understand if they are serious or not. It feels like a parody with the colours, accessories and the truck and everything but then the dancing starts and suddenly it all become so serous again with the sexy message in the lyrics an all the pelvic movements.
And then you see the furry steering wheel and the clown and once again you cant decide... Maybe it is both? a parody of being sexy or a girl being sexy while shooting a parody?... This is why I don't really like the video >___<
And for being such a good dancer you don't really get to see how she is melting us with her dancing. The clean cut dance sections is mostly some hip hop steps and nothing more exciting than that.
Though, there is one scene I do like in the video. Believe it or not but it is the most sexy shot, with HyunA bathing in bubbles. If you are going to sing about being sexy then you have to have these kinds of pictures, not just crazy accessories and heavy make up. The one where she is standing behind a mans body and caresses him is also really hot.
Maybe it is time to wrap it up now? I don't have anything more to talk about I think... So I don't like the lyrics and not really the video either even if I do like sexiness... hmm... I don't know what that tell about me?...
We had a Sherlock Holmes theme this weekend. First we saw the new TV-series Elementary and I think it is lovely. They have taken Sherlock Holmes to the present day and move him to New York and Watson is a girl! Even with all the changes Sherlock is still the right way, a little bitter and to smart for his own good.
After the three episodes of Sherlock we also watched the two movies with Robert Downey Jr. Again. They are also nice, I know I have been writing about the second one before. But short I can say that I like the puzzle in them, and the humour and the wardrobe. The last one I think makes me like them most! All the clothes is so neatly and nicely done!
Beside watching TV I have also been playing DS and the new Pokémon but of course I am a lot after my fiancé right now (T__T) We also tried Dance Central 3 and played trough the story, I think it was really fun! And in some of the songs I had the opportunity to feel better than my all-around-gamer-fiancé, I doesn't happen very often.
We also spend some hours at a birthday party, my fiancés grandfathers mother was celebrating here 90th birthday and I got to meet a lot of there family. They served a sandwich cake and three different sweet ones. Sandwich cake eh? It is so hard to explain in English because I don't know if there is something alike out there. But in short it is a "grown-up" cake that is made of bread and all different food and decoration. Shrimps, ham and egg is usually standard as you can see. It is a way to serve food instead of only sweet cakes and you eat it with fork and knife. It is one of my favourite things to eat!
So, that was in short my weekend, now it is time to start up the school work again. Fighting!
It is hard to study when you want to play. A couple of days ago I got Pokémon White 2 from my fiancé and now I just want to catch them all! But I have to do the serious stuff first, be a good girl... Gaah! Sometimes I really hate being a good girl!
Hopefully we also will get Dance Central 3 in the mail today, so I really know what we will spend our Friday night with ;)I got so happy when I heard that 2NE1 is in the game! So fun to be able to danceto I am the Best.
There is also a really great discussion online abut why Gangnam Style isnt in the game. Apperentliy they didnt have time to get it to work. But the talk is that they are trying to make it happen after the release trught DLC (download Content). For me personly I choose 2NE1 over PSY but if I can get them both then it also would be nice.
I think that using PSY would be great for both the game developers and PSY himself. It maybe also would be good to make k-pop more interesting because I understand what my fiancé mean when he said "2NE1 is not so well known, so even if you can the song and dance you wont have a lot of opportunities to compete with it. It is a song that people will skip over in the game because they don't know it."
That way I think that maybe Gangnam Style would have gotten it to be more interesting, like; ohh, now I want to try more k-pop. And here we have 2NE1...But at another hand Gangnam Style maybe would get all the attention?
However it is, I am really happy that 2NE1 is in Dance Central 3 and tonight I am going to eat sweets and dance all my troubles away. And to celebrate it, it is time to listen to the song once more! (and then go back to work and not to play Pokémon >___<)
I really like stand up comedy and have now started to watch Mitt liv är ett skämt, a swedish television production where well known artist/idols/famous people in Sweden get to try doing stand up. Some of the episodes are fun ^__^
Miss A released there last video a couple of days ago. I have watched it a few times today and I think I really like it. Miss A is a cool four member girl group that has been active since 2010. This video is the from the new album Independent Women Pt.III and I like these girls full of girl power, making a stand for them self.
To sing about not wanting to live of a boyfriends money, beeing independent, even if that means being poor, is something I feel is important and right. An these girls really make it in a nice way. One other really great thing about the video is that they have enlish
lyrics! It is so nice to fully comprehend what they are singing and
when.
The video feels kind of simple starting up with the four girls in the usual white-nothing-in-particilar-but-some-strange-wall-behind-room, a must for most k-pop videos. The talk and the easy beat get you involved and interested. The girl themselves moves with power and self confident ready to sing about being just that. They dance together at the time the song really starts and the dance itself doesn't feel really really rehearsed and perfected, even when it is synchronised, instead it is filled with a fun feeling that makes the message easier.
Later on you meet the girls separated in different "rooms" and I like these because they try to point out the girls individuality. Fei is in a bar of some kind, Suzy is in a beauty parlour and Jia in a closet/fashion room. Min's room is the only one I didn't understand. It feels high class with the throne-like chair but I can't decide what it really represent? Is she the queen?
Either way, later on the girl steps out of there "rooms" and join up together, a great symbol for being united if you ask me. They also dress up like men, maybe to show that they can be as successful and do the same work as they? Anyhow I like it, and they do feel kind of sexier in a suit than a lot of the men out there!
The band then: Even if I haven't been a big Miss A-fan (mostly because I haven't had the opportunity listen to them much)I do like some of there earlier hits and I probably will be a fan in the future if they continue like this. I like girl bands with like four or five members, more that that makes it confusing (*cough* Girls Generation*cough*), and it's even better when the girls have different styles and attribute because the members get there individuality but at the same time match each other.
The girls are all beautiful, I love Fei's hair in the video, and Suzy is always cute and hot at the same time. Min is really cool especially when she raps and Jia is really sexy and dances well. But the band have gotten some not to nice comments because they think the girl has changed there style and is trying to copy 2NE1, especially with Min's new hairstyle, she resembles Minzy from 2NE1. I myself doesn't think so. Sure the short hair can get you to think about here and yes 2NE1 is also a four member group, And the Girl Power makes they resemble each other as well, but there style is different. Miss A is a little bit more down to earth when it comes to clothes and crazy hair and the singing style is different as well. And what is the problem with being a little bit alike? It is hard not to be like someone else out there when there is so many bands. But they try to make there own things, and they are growing!
So my final words? Miss A is a cool band and together they make a not to advanced video with a fun touch, even when the lyrics is serious and I can really se myself listening to it for a long time. Go go girl power!
Bokura Ga Ita (Zenpen) AKA: We Were There is a japanese movie that is build on an manga (and an anime) written by Yuki Obata. The story is about a girl named Takahashi Nanami during her high school days. She meets Yano, an really handsome and popular boy, and soon she starts to have feelings for him. But Yano has an broken past with an ex-girlfriend that died so even if he is interested in Nanami it is hard for him to let go.
The movie is a really bitter-sweet love story about the first love and a lot of what I was hoping for. I first come in contact with the story like five years ago when I started to watch the anime and I fell in love. It was such an awesome anime and a lot different from what I used to watch back in the day. It was mostley about there love and as I can recall you didn't focus on other things at all even if it still happens a lot of things beside that. The love story carried itself and didn't need action or adventure, not even to much drama. I cried and was so happy at the same time when I watched it that it had to leave a mark in me. Later on I started to read the manga but the chapter was really unregular distributed and I read that the story didn't finish until February this year (16 volumes). When I heard that there was a movie, building on the story, being made you understand that I had to check it out right away.
Click the picture to wiew it
The movie had a lot of the old feel in it even if everything developed to fast (so it is when you cut the runtime in ten) and they had a couple of really nice scenes that reminded you of the anime and the manga even if you can't get it as clean and soft as you can when you draw or animate it. The music also lifted a lot of the story and was a great compliment. The acting was also nice and I especially liked Yuriko Yoshitaka who played Nanami. She is so cute and really match the character.
So what do I really say? I love this story but the anime is a bit better, mostly because you have more time to develop. So I suggests that everyone interesting watch the anime first, but if that is not possible? then the movie is fully okey. I have also heard that this movie shall have an sequel but I can't find anything about it, if you know please comment!
I was planning to write a lot this weekend but then... It really didn't happen. Sure I posted some things but not really anything interesting from my life. Maybe that is because it isn't happening something interesting right now? ... It is true! so now I am going to write about all the not so interesting things from my life and you can read it if you want ^__^
it feels like I only have one thing in my life right now and that is school. i have so much to do and think about and it is sucking the energy right out of me. I met my VFU-mentor yesterday again, and visited three of her classes. It was nice to spend some time with the students even if I had my own school work to do. right now I am taking a break from rewrite my notes from the observations I did yesterday and last Friday, have to turn them in this afternoon. I don't really understand why my teachers have to read my notes from the field study, I am going to use them later on in my report, but if they need them then they shall have them!
and the report... I am not looking forward to start with it. It feels like it is going to turn out bad already from the start T___T not motivated at all to write it. But I have to so I am going to do that as well.
I also did screw things up last week. We had to turn in our intention and thoughts about the upcoming report last week so that the teacher could give us feedback and help us if something isn't going to work. As the good girl I am I wrote it in time but then I thought that I didn't have to send it to the teacher until after lunch, so I had lunch and of course I forgot to send it >___< I got a mail from my teacher later on, asking for the assignment so now I have sent it but now I am after in my schedule. Hopefully I will get feedback from him quite soon, otherwise I can't really start with the report...
The weather is another thing I have trouble with right now. Today I heard that in some parts of Sweden the first snow has come, my mother drew to work in snow/slush this morning. I hate the cold because my body-heat doesn't match so I am always freezing. I feel a bit of panic when I think abut it and soon it is November... I am NOT looking forward to it!
12 okt 2012
My bad mood after stress and panic isn't good either. I feel really sorry for my fiancé who have to live with me sometimes. I have to make it up to him but doesn't really know how. So I will try to just not let it get to me and at least not take my bad mood out on him. He is one of the things in my life that feels right and that I can be happy about, I can't forget that. Now I have to continue to write the thing I have to turn in today. Maybe I can take one more break later on to find something to eat. Fighting!
I have been hoping that I would find some good TV-show to follow and comment on from the beginning but all the series I have been interested in is to long gone allread. But now maybe I have found it. I watched the first episode of Arrow togheter with my fiancé this week and I feels promesing.
It is not a secret that we the last years have been interesting in super hero movies, it is a genre we both like (even if he is more knowledgeable than me) and want to watch so it is an easy way to spend good, happy times together. Anyhow, when I heard about Arrow, an tv-series that is built on the story of Green Arrow, it wasent hard to know that this was something we had to try watch together.
It is always some trouble when they make a TV-adaption on a super hero, they tend to change so much from the story to fit the budget, script and production and not the other way around (even if I have to say that a lot of the new super hero movies is great!). My fiancé was afraid that they would change Green Arrow to much, I myself wasn't that scared, I don't have so much earlier experience with Green Arrow as he and it is harder to get disappointed if you don't have preconceptions about the deitails. Anyhow, I do think we both liked the first episode, I am sure I did at least. It was not to childish but not to dark or to advanced either. I think that if they do it right a lot of people can like it regardless of how much they know about it before hand. The story is easy to understand even if you don't know all of it yet and the man that plays Arrow/Oliver Queen (Stephan Amell) is nice to look at. Even people that doesn't really care about comics can find something to like I think.
So hopefully I will continue watch and can make some updates here about it. I would be happy if I am correct and this is going to be something good but one episode isn't always enough to know. We just have to wait and see.
Today I was seraching around on youtube for japanese music, mostly for
the site I am helping out with (japan.ifokus.se). Suddenley I just heard
something awesome:
But how do you find anything about the band when all the text is in Japanese and I cant read it? You use Google! So I took a part of the titel and hoped I got the part with the bands name and not the title of the song. I was in luck. I found the Wikipedia-page for カラーボトル and almost the only word I understood was Color Bottle. Hopefully I "googeled" that together with the words Japanese band and I found it!
Color Bottle is mostly famous for there song Aoi Hana which is the opening for Casshern Sins, a shounen adventure. The song that I found and really liked I think is called Sayonara. So maybe it is a bit difficult sometimes but remember Google is your best friend (and also Google translate). If you get some words out it is easier to find. Here is another of there videos I want you to se:
It has been a while since I have been actively listening to Japanese music, mostly because I grew tired of all the big girlband like AKB48 where the only thing they were good at was being cute (not that S.Korea is much better sometimes but at least they have some variation). But I do really love these kinds of songs, they are soft and calm and sad at the same time and makes my heart ache.
AOA (Ace Of Angels) is back with there second singel album named Wanna Be and they just released the title track MV Get Out:
Somehow this video is so divided that I dont know if I like it or not. The girls in AOA once again triumph with there cuteness and sparkles wit perfect wavy hair and make-up to perfection, a lot of pink and other pastels in both clothes and backgrounds. At the same time they sing about saying goodbye to a guy, telling him that he is nothing and the girl just spent time with him because he was pitiful. Were did the angel-theme go? Because I think that kind of confession would get them send right downstairs if you know what I mean.
the again I like the "girl power" they have in the chorus with drums and that cute punk-rock style on some of the members. Its like they are screaming "just because we are girls we don't need a man to survive. we can be cute and strong at the same time" and some of the lyrics is maybe on the same track because here it more feels like the girls negativity towards the boy they sing to comes from sorrow, that they have to be mean towards him, telling him that he is a fool, as a way to get over being dumped by him. But still, there is the hapy-go-lucky smiles on everyone and the happy colours that still makes me confused. Because they can still be cute even if the don't smile from ear to ear. Some of the feelings is really lost in the song. And then we have the whole cosplay thing! WTF? sure, I like good cosplay and they do it good in the video, but what exactly is Lara Croft, Hermione form Harry Potter and The Bride from Kill Bill (and some more) doing there? Sure they are all strong women but... Yeah, I don't really get it. I am also really tired of the short-hotpants-showing-the-leg-parts in like every girl band MV. We have already seen it, come up with something else! Sure they have nice legs, and sure there asses is also really great (I can give them that even if I don't swing that way), but they have to have some other good parts as well?
Another thing that I started thinking about was the play back, yes I know you aren't suppose to sing in the video itself, you have to use play back and add the music later. But hello! the girls can at least try to look as if they are singing. Sometimes I was just wondering if they really think you can sing like that without opening the mouth. Yes, they want to look good but in my eyes this way is not the right way. I listen to music because I want the singing most, the looks comes later. If they in the video doesn't show that they even like to sing when they are suppose to do it then I loose my interest and it also makes them look like a stupid fish... So, now after my criticism what do I think as a whole? The song is still happy and a little strong (especially after studying the lyrics) and I think I want to add it to my music player on my phone. But I don't like the video, it is to much and to confusing, it really didn't have to be. It feels like the people behind this want to promote the girls to much, want to add a lot of different things to get it interesting, when the only thing they really needed to do was to let the girls cuteness and coolness be in focus. They look good and the song is quite good but they didn't really work with that so... To much! What do you think?
Maybe I am a little perv inside but recently I have really fallen for nekomimi-pictures. For you who don't know, nekomimi means catgirl and the pictures is of (mostly) girls with cat ears and a tail. I find them so cute! I like the more innocent pictures, not the naked hentai kind, so maybe I am not that big of a perv? at least I can hope so.
It is kind of funny, I finds these picture cute and interesting, I have always liked cat ears (at least
since I started to watch anime) but my boyfriend doesn't care, it isn't anything he finds hot at all. When I bought cat ears to wear myself his only comment was about not showing it to other people because they maybe liked that sort of thing, besides that he just laughed at me a little because he though I was ridiculous with them on... So I have to enjoy them by myself and that is okay. At least I feel cute with them on.
Now you don't have to get this wrong, I am not some crazy person with a cat ear fetish. I like to play and have them on sometimes (not really often) and I like the pictures, but I am not crazy about it like a maniac. I wanted to show you some of the pictures I like so you can understand wath I mean:
Cute ehh? and not naked at all! I think I want to be a cat, =^.^= they can be lazy and cute and happy and sad and show it clearly with the ears. And they are also a little bit ridiculous some times without feel stupid afterwards, and I like to be a bit ridiculous some times.
Like the saying goes, after rain there is sunshine. After a couple of days filled with stress, problems and worries my life took a new turn yesterday. Suddenly thing started to fall into place again. My seminar gave me a bit of information and help to begin the work with my new assignment in school, a report consisting of 8 pages about something we choose to study through observation in a high school. I know the things I want to study now and that is the use of IT and computers in education so a bit of the problem is already solved, now I just have to do the assignment at write the report. I also finally got in contact with my VFU-mentor. VFU means Verksamhetsförlagd utbildning and is a part of my education where I, as an teachercandidate, am going to be in upper secondary school with a real teacher as an mentor. My mentor has been sick so we didn't have time for our meeting last week, instead I got in contact with her yesterday and met her in school. There we started to talk about the long period this semester that I am going to work in school like a teacher (but with my mentor at my side). It is going to be for five whole weeks! I am so looking forward to it but I am also afriad. What if the students doesn't likes me? what if they dont understand what I am saying when I talk to them? what if, what if, what if?... But I guess I dont have to think about that right now, I have so much of other things to do.
After the meeting I was happy and free for the night and I got the chans to talk to my sister whom I really miss. The phonecall made me even happier and for once I hade the chans to sleep without problems. This morning I woke up just to find out that I also passed on my last exam. I have been afraid that I would have to do a makeover on the test. So this is one more thing on my problem-list that I can stop worrying about. Now I just have to finish my work for tomorrow and then I have time to breath a little before it is time to start planing my lessons for the VFU and start the work on the report. Fighto!
Just like the title of the post says, this day I haven't done a thing. Been sitting in the sofa with my fiancé and watching Supernatural whit my laptop in my lap and my cat at my feet. But of course I have been doing stuff on the computer and especially a lot of the computer time has been spent on Japan.iFokus.se a site in swedish about all the things concerning Japan. Anime, manga, music, culture and language.
I felt a little guilty that I haven't been spending a lot of time there recently especially when I am one of the admin. Yes, the other in admin haven't either been active recently but I still feel a bit of responsibility for the site. So I spent some time going trough some of the posts, updating the Youtube channel and adding links. Time that feels right to finally spend. It isn't just for the site and the members, it was also good for myself. Reading and finding stuff about one my big interest gave me a bit of happiness in another stressful and dark world. It also made me longing even more for our future trip to Tokyo ^__^ so now I am going back to the sofa and Supernatural, lazy and happy, a combination that hasn't really appeared in a long time.
I thought it was time to write about another of my favourite TV-series. This time I get inspired to write about Glee after watching the latest episode. But the thought was that in this post I was going to introduce you to the show, not talking about the latest episode, so here goes:
Glee started to air in 2009 and is now in its 4th season. The show got a lot of viewers from the beginning but now I think it mostly is teenagers and young adults that is interested because the show itself is about teenage life, high school and being different.
Yes, it is the being different, an outcast or an underdog that from the beginning is the main theme in the show. A group of these not so popular people starts to hang out through the schools glee club and some of the more popular kids, that wouldn't even speak to them before, joins as well (not everyone voluntarily). In the beginning thedifference in the group leads to hardships, fights and disagreements but eventually Mr. Schuester, the Glee club director gets the group to work together trough music. Yes, the show is a musical, but not in the mossy kind of way. The main point in Glee is the story and then the add the music to fit. In the beginning it got me thinking about Disney and how they in there animations add the element of music to get the story to evolve. Glee is a lot like that, singing about being different, expectations, love and hardships as a way to develop and for me this is really really interesting.
But on of the most interesting parts in the series isn't the singing or dancing, even if the cast does that really well, no it is the intrigue when you put a lot of different people in the same group and how the people you at least expected to see together becoming friends and gets a deeper understanding of each other, something that they never even expected to understand before. In Glee these individuals starts to form a group despite if they are cheerleaders, gay, nerds, divas or have disabilities and is stuck in a wheelchair, and It makes me happy and hopeful to see scenes like that. Somewhere I heard that Glee has made the nerd the new cool, and maybe that is somewhat true. Thinking about it you can see an wave of glasses, suspenders, bow-ties and intelligent getting the spotlight, but I can't possible say that Glee is the reason for this, it could also be the other way around. Either way it is something new for the industry and for me I think it is something good. The show has a good message and if kids and teenagers can see on TV that it is okey to be different then I cant see any harm in that. And in the mean time I will be entertained.
Today a friend of mine shared this picture on Facebook. The text originates from Julia Cameron's book Låt din kreativitet flöda (~Letyour creativity run wild) and is in fact an assignment for the reader to once in a while stay up late and read a book that you really want to read instead of reading something you must or go to sleep like a good person. The main point is that a lot of people finds themself lacking the energy to do what they like after a day or a week of hard work and that they get unhappy beacuse of it. one night of disobedience is not worlds changing but maybe something we have to treat ourself to once in a while. I recognized myself in the text and the things I, the last couple of days, have been writing about. So maybe I will try this on myself, just to know if it makes me feel better. Chose a good book that I have been longing for and stay up with some candy or other and read without a care in the world. A lot like I used to do when I was younger. I doesn't sounds half bad!
Yes, I took my camera out for an hour today and I wanted to share it with you. Here is some my favourites. The best thing about autumn is the colour, it is like the world is on fire, the natures way to give the last bit of energy before the hard, cold winter.
