I don't know what I should say. It is nice seeing CL doing her own MV but... Somehow it is over the top. I don't like the video but the song have some nice parts.
Lee HyoRi - Bad Girls (dance vers.)
I like this bad girl-video more than CL, especially the dance version with english lyrics. The song is catching and the video have a measage that I like.
I love this song! It makes me happy and hopeful even if the lyrics is kind of sad. I can also see myself walking a lot with this song in my ears, it gives me energy and I want to smile towards the sky. I somehow compare it to Big Bang's Blue because they makes me feel almost the same even if the songs is different.
I like the theme of the video and the wardrobe as well. The guys looks cool and... Swag! I am a bit tired of that word but I can't find another way to describe it. The voices is good and is a big part why I get this happy feeling I get watching it. Taecyeon and his rap *sign*... I can feel his voice in my stomach! Especially when he tells me he loves me! Kyaa~
(and no, I am not usually a big fangirl of any group...)
The adding of the seven deathly sins was also a lot of fun in the video, I found myself searching for them. They added something. Like the "greed company" and the picture with Envy on it that describes the feeling in the scene. Such a good touch!
I think the only thing I don't really like is the six guys one girl concept. I understand that You can find different stories in the video and that they maybe end up differently depending, but still.... It feels a bit wrong.
It is hard for anyone to have missed that PSYs new video Gentlman is out. As his first video after Gangnam Style it has already got a lot of attention. The most usual though about it is that it is a catchy song and a funny video but not at all in the same class as Gangnam Style.
Gentleman have right now got almost 19000000 views and it is said that PSY now also got the "most views in one day on youtube"-record, a record that Justin Bieber earlier held even with the Gangnam hysteria.
So what is the fuss all about? A lot of people is talking about how the video and song is lacking the deeper meaning, that Gangnam is famous for. It is also a lot of voices out there who is sad that it isn't Gangnam once again. To the first group of people I can say that somehow I can find a deep meaning even in this song, even if it maybe isn't done in the same kind of way. To all those who is sad because it isn't a replica of Gangnam I also say; If you want Gangnam, watch the old video. You cant make the same thing twice, and if you tried it would be totally ruined. PSY have still a lot of the Gangnam Style references in the Gentleman-video so you should find stuff there that satisfies you.
So what do we really find in the video? If we shall start with the Gangnam-stuff you find a crazy PSY doing not so good stuff and at the same time makes you kind of like him. He spend times with this old people, having crazy clothes, doing crazy things (some really mean things) and at the same time have these hot girls surrounding him. You find once again a elevator in the video, this time it is Jae-Seok in his yellow suit that is in it, and by the look by it he really need to go to the bathroom. PSY also have one really famous kpop artist in the video dancing with him. This time it is Ga-In (or Gain) from Brown Eyed Girls and not HyunA from 4minute. Maybe best of all, you once again finds a silly dance to adapt.The dance is in fact taken from Brown Eyed Girls hit-song Abracadabra, well known for people that have been interested in kpop for years. As you understand the video is packed with stuff and you have to watch it a couple of times to really understand and notice all of them.
So is this video really nothing more than a silly video, and is the lyrics really as blunt as they say? I think it is some different ways to think when it comes to it but first I want to really remind you all that even if the video doesn't have a meaning more than that PSY is a party-freak, he isn't the only one with empty lyrics and a fast beat, a lot of the songs in the radio doesn't have a deeper meaning at all.
If we still shall try to find something we have to lift the biggest thing about the lyrics thats up for discussion. It is the use of Mother Father Gentleman. Of course you can translate it as "I am a gentleman, you can let me meet your parents" but the worlds Mother Father is also used in Korea as a substitute for Motherf***er, something you cant openly sing about (or talk about on national television). If this is what PSY really mean with the chorus, then we have something to use. The meaning of the song suddenly is mor in the lines of "I am a bad boy who likes to party. You are so sexy. I can trick you and pretend to be a gentlman (who can met your parents) just to get what I want from you". I hope you understand what I mean?
This makes PSY seem like a really bad guy and some would argue that this is not the meaning of the song because it would ruin his reputation. I just wants to remind you how many songs there is out there about sex and using each other, who is really popular! You should also remember PSYs way of doing things. In Gangnam Style he sung about being one of those hypocritical people from Gangnam that works hard on there image by day but party all night. This would only be another way for PSY to show the bad behaviour from an inside point of view.
I don't know if this is really the true meaning about the song and video, but it is interesting to speculate. What do you think? I myself is at least trying to not think to hard about it, I like the song, it is catchy, and I think that is enough. It is also fun that I kind of already know the dance to the video, I can stand up and dance right now! Here, I posted abracadabra for you who haven't already seen it. Be sure to check it out, it is really a classic!
On a side note I can tell you that I watched PSYs live stream of his Happening-consert in Seoul yesterday. That man knows how you keep the audience happy. You should really watch it if you have the time. He even got guest performances from 2ne1, Lee Hi and G-dragon and there were over 150000 watching over the live stream at the time.
B.A.P, I missed you guys, but finally you are back with the right sound! No matter what I wrote last time, I really do love this side of you. Even after almost 10 days after the realeas I still like it as much. I havent had the time to write about it before now. Hopefully that is a good thing?
One Shot isn't my favourite B.A.P song but it is still really awesome. This is the way I like them to sound. One of my favorite things about the video is that it is like a short movie. It tells a story about these awesom men that sacrefices there safetly. they start out in the airplane hangar looking as cool as ever. They start dancing to the B.A.P's heavy beat with a lot of heavy movements in there hands and knees.
Then they changes location to the garage, where one of the members is hurt by a drive by and they get a video of Youngjae being held captured and getting beaten. The other gang wants money for there prisoner. The members are realizing there bad situation and they starts planing something with a lot of maps, cameras and weapons. Hopefully they will succeed in getting the money and save there lost member.
They attack a money truck and even if they hurt the guards they got the money for the ransom. Then it is time for the exchange, the money for the gang member. The other gang then shoots the prisoner instead of letting it go according to plan and the gangs start to fire there weapons at each other. They all falls one after another, coughing blood and loosing there life. They fire one final shot to kill the other gang leader.
And here you have two different endings: the first one results in every member being dead at the end and the other is a rewind version where Youngjae reveals being an undercover cop and that all the members getting arrested by the police. Either one of the endings is kind of bad for the members and some fans believes that the whole story is that you only have one shot at life, it is important to make the best out of it. So don't get involved with gangs my dears!
The story is really massive if you ask me, I really like videos where you can understand the big picture like this, not just get a lot of different settings without a story. the thing I finds a little disturbing is the breaks in the video where you hear the change in the music. It matches the video well but if you, like me, likes to play the videos on Youtube and at the same time doing a lot of other thing, just listening to it, you get a bit disturbed when the song just stops in the middle a couple of times. But hey, a music video is for watching not just listening so I know I have to live whit it. Besides that I don't really have anything more negative to say. It was a good video and a nice song. Keep up the good work!
The first time I listened to Jaejoong's Mine I really started to remeber why I love Asian music. It got me thinking about jpop (even when it is a kpop song) and everything I loved about Jpop back in the day. The dark theme mashed up with a beautiful piano, the wonderful symbolic and the heavy feeling. I didn't expect this from Jaejoong (not from many Korean artists at all) and it was a wonderful surprise. It is like one of those awesome anime intros that you remember for the rest of your life, not just because it is a good song but also how it matches the story and your feelings. I think this is my favourite song this far in 2013!
I am not going to write more about this song here, a lot of other people have already done so, but I really wanted to share it with the people out there who haven't seen the video yet. Be sure to check it out!
I realized that I haven't done a real post about Boyfriend, at least not since I started to write in English. Maybe it is time? I think so, especially when the opportunity arises with there new music video for I Yah!
I took me almost a week after its release before I watched the video, mostly because I have had a lot of other things to do, but I liked it the first time watching it.
Maybe I have to turn back time a little and explain myself to you. The first times I got in contact with Boyfriend I didn't really like them that much. I Thought that they were just any other boy band out there with a couple of nice boys. Sure I heard there music but it wasn't more than that for me. But now I have started to realise how many of there songs I really frequently listening to. They are one of those bands that just creeps into your play-list and then they starts to take over the whole thing!
Another thing that I suddenly realised is how good they really are, they have only been active for two years and they sing and dances great! and judging by there new music video they also tries to not only be those cute boys but really step it up a bit!
So the video and music then. The song is really catchy, especially the chorus. I got the I Yah in my head for life now! The dance is also cool with kind of easy but nice moves that matches the song quite nicely. At least they look awesome doing it with little chest-rubbing and leg-flipping. And don't forget the out-calling with the hands. And the arm dance where they almost touches each other!! Gaah!! *overheating*... (Sorry, something is wrong with me today >___< )
The lyrics is also nice even if some of it maybe is not that easy to understand. When I read it I get the feeling that there is this love story and that somehow it is painful. My first thought was that the song is about growing up and be capable to catch love, or the interest of the girl at least. They both want the girl to do the work (if you can say it like that) by suddenly realise that the boy are there, but there is also talk about how the boy will get her attention himself. Catch her in his hands. The story is an easy one, how painful it may be, and it is the same old story of unreturned love. But the video grasp that concept with the cute girl in school and I have to be happy about that.
School huh? I understand the thought behind this as well. The band members aren't that old yet, yes the leader is born 89' but three of them are still 17, and they haven't been working for so long. School is a natural place for these young bands videos because it is appreciated by all even if I had hoped to see something different. At least the band is on its way away from this pretty-boy-image, just look at the leatherand studs in the dance-sections of the video, but then it is back to the school uniform in the story. I think these two clashes a bit with each other. Don't you? Maybe I have to accept it as it is and just be happy about the bad boy-feeling you get at the end when the boys grows up and is helping the girl. Standing up for her when she is in trouble, driving her home on there motorcycle... Yeah, I can appreciate that.
And then we have the whole all-members-and-one-girl-thing that I don't really know if I should comment or not. They did succeed with the story so it matches the lyrics but I still think that they could all be in love with different girls and still make it this good. Maybe even better. Different girls could have given the boys all a different story and could have matched with there personality's a bit more! but hey, that is my opinion and they made it work.
So finally, what did I think. It isn't my favourite song of the year but it is rather cool. I like the way it easy get stuck in your head and the way it will be easily remembered. So it is really good even if it isn't the best video ^__^
I have a lot of different things going on in my life but I still have some time to listen to music. Now i also found some time to write about it (or found... I should be studying right now but this is much more interesting to do!). I have been watching and listening to Kim Sung Kyu's 60 sec a lot recently and is really falling in love with it.
In the beginning the video is kind of hard to understand and a lot of different stories have been going around but I find one of them easier to understand than the rest. The songs title is 60 sec and in the video description you can read "60'' taken to fall in love, 60'' taken to fall out of love" and even if the English isn't really right you can understand the meaning anyway; that it can take 60 seconds to fall in love but also 60 seconds to fall out of love. Right? So the video is trying to explain this by letting Kim Sung Kyu fall in love at the first sight with the girl. The time freezes and he can see their future in his mind.
The chorus starts right there and the first lines can be translated to:
"60 seconds is all I need for this storyYou came into my heart, I don’t doubt it"
He then spend some time in the café thinking about how it could be, they being happy together at first. but he also realize that if they later on would break up it would be devastating, she turning him down by giving him back the ring.
In the café he can feel the sadness from this imaginary future and leaves the ring and tries to leave before it is to late. The girl tries to give him the ring that she things he forgot and at the same time as he declines it she also falls in love and can see how happy they could make each other. She becomes sad over the future that will never be. In that moment they share a love story that never got the chance to bloom.
Meeeuw! the video and the story is so sad and romantic an probably why i like it so much >.< The thought that a minute can make such a different is really appealing and at the same time devastating to me. It get me thinking what if about a lot of different things in my life...
Another thing that is important in the song and video is the way it tell a story about love as not only something great but also something sad when it ends. The end is so hurtful for all of us but at the same time it is the reason that love is so important. Think about it, love wouldn't be so wonderful if it wasn't so sensitive to everything else. One minute is all it takes to be over.
So as you can see, the message is all it took to win me over for this song. but beside that Kim Sung Kyu sings really well and the song is both hopeful and sad. The lightening and the setting of the videos is also great and makes it easier to access the feeling of the song and the video.
Of course you can criticizes some parts in the video, like how they portrait there happy-couple-times (a lot of the things they do in the video isn't something i would call really romantic, like poking each others forehead...) you can also criticizes it based on the story telling, you have to see the video a couple of times to really understand it. But I am a sucker for sad love-stories and thus I overall really do love it!
As I wrote in the post about this past weekend I went to the movies with J-chan and we finally got to see the last twilight-movie. Even if I somewhat doesn't really like the movies, it is to many fan-girls screaming in the audience for a halfhearted performance of a story from a good book, I couldn't really miss it. I also think I made my fiancé a bit happier when he didn't have to see it with me, he hate it a lot more than I do.
I didn't have a lot of expectations but got happily surprised. i think it is the best of the five movies mostly because they got the feeling almost right. Sure they missed a bit about the stress and the darkness that Bella is carrying the last weeks before the final battle but they make it up with the battle twist itself. I am not going to spoil anything for you but the final battle is a bit different in the film than in the book and got a bit of a twist that made me feel a couple of different things at the same time.
The music and the light in the movie made a lot of the feeling to get right and I again got surpriced when I heard Green Day in it.But it allready got me in the intro with the snow/blood theme. Nice! One other thing I like is the little girl. She is so cute with wonderful eyes. I want one of those too >__< not eyes! A cute little girl. Not right away but in the future.
Anyhow, over all, a fine movie and I can really understand why so many likes it. But it is also nice that it is over now, we can finally move one.
I haven't been that interested in B1A4 earlier, just listened to a couple of songs. But when I saw this video earlier today I fell in love.
Baro and the girl
The interest woke from the beginning of the MV. I love the bird cage, and all the flowers and the sun shining through the window and.. Everything. It is like a fairytale (and I love fairytales!). And out steps cute Baro and finds a girl in all that beauty. But he cant reach her really and then the song starts. Jinyong is really hot! I haven't really been interesting in B1A4 earlier, mostly because they always has this cute side to show, but in this video they are all kind of manly!
The first few lines in the beginning of the song is making my heart ache And then the girl is giving Baro his ring back and leaves and everything gets even worse. The song and the lyrics is sad but wonderful. It is about a break up and loneliness but also have this slowly growing positivity that the guy is also a bit relieved.
"I guess love is leaving,
it rides the wind and flies far away.
I guess everything is changing,
I guess you’re changing just like me."
These two different feelings is also represented in the video. they have cut together two different takes of Baro's single shots. one where he is dressed in shimmering light colors and the light is flowing on the set and the next take is dark and dead and the treas and flowers doesn't bloom. Personality I think i prefer the dark ones (maybe I am a Sadist?). I think they have more depth and feels more beautiful. If you watch the end these two personas get different endings but exactly what I am not going to tell you.
So as you understand I really like the style and the symbols in the video, and the song is really sad and beautiful and hopeful at the same time. And the boys looks awesome! Maybe they could have put the other boys more in the story as well but at the same time I really like the way they tell the love story between Baro and the girl. This video isn't one of those all-members-on-the-same-girl kind of thing and that makes me really happy! This is going to go on repeat at home for a while I think.
My mind is kind of divided over this video, I like the song and the MV but on the other hand I don't know if this is the picture I have of B.A.P. The song is sweet and beautiful. They sing about how the girl doesn't have to wonder if they like her, because as they have told "her" many times they really do, It is about insecure love and of how important love is. A song that I really think would fit a band like Boyfriend, or SHINee or something. I am not to sure about how this fit B.A.P's image? For me B.A.P is all about the rap and the revolution but maybe I can't let go of that picture they med with WARRIOR, Power and No Mercy an such, even when they want to develop something new? For me this isn't something new, more like big step back for the band, however good looking they are... I want something more from my boy-bands!
But as I said, the video isn't bad, it is kind of funny actually. For once they get the whole all-members-on-the-same-girl-thing to work in some way. It is like all the members is in love with the teacher and is competing for her interest.I have to confess I have some trouble to tell the boys apart but I think it is Yong Guk who is the "ghost" in the video, the one that the girl can't see. He try to sabotage for his follow members because they all is in love with the girl. Exactly what he is I cant decide but he at first got me to think about a normal ghost, he got hit by a car, but later on i also thought about a dokkaebi and a gumiho... But non of them fits as well...
Then maybe the woman is the one with all the magical powers? All the member get smitten by her in a magical way, she do blow something like fairy dust on them, and they got tamed by there love.... Hmm... Is this the reason for the sudden change in style for the band? They were really crazy and bad boys and then this magical teacher woman cast a love spell on them, so that they falls in love with her and want to show there sincerity by stop there mischievous behavior, even if it some continues withe there rivality over her?
and the tail grabbing part at the end? is that her final attack at the Yong Guk? She strips him of his last powers and rebelliousness? to "stop it"? and then he wake up in a white simple room and a feather falls to the floor? is she an angel? send from heaven to get the boys act together? does this mean that B.A.P here forth will have a new and nicer image?
so many questions.. but is it true then i don't know if the band will continue to be one of my favorites? even if the video was interesting with a deep meaning I don't like the change in style. We can hope that the angel spell will be put down in the next video ^__^
Block B rocks again with Nillili Mamba (and crazy pirate theme and lyrics)!
Eat Your Kimchi did a review on this video for K-pop Music Monday's already and I can't make something better than that but I still wanted to post the video on the blog because... well, I love it a little! The song is just spinning in my head. I like the dark and a bit heavy beat and the pirate-feel that they really did success to add! Maybe this can even be something my fiancé like to listen to? he doesn't really care about k-pop (just have to listen to it when I play loud music at home) but he do like pirates ;)

HyunA is back! She is maybe the most well known of the members of 4minute, at least for me, and she is really fun and sexy most of the time. The MV Ice Cream is one of the track of her new mini album Melting and maybe is the most talkative because PSY is a guest star in it?
But beside PSY's and HyunA's continuing collaboration I want to talk about the video itself. As you all can understand she is singing about ice cream! And not just that, the lyrics is about how she is changeable as ice cream, with a lot of different flavours and sides, and also that she is going to get someone to melt like ice cream. Easily put, she is going to be as hot and interesting that everybody is going to melt for here.
the lyrics isn't really that sensational, a lot of girl band sing about stuff like this in a way of being sexy without saying the really sexy things out loud. I don't really know what I think about the lyrics, what can you be thinking? it is kind of main stream and the usual play with english words. It is not an important message, it is more shallow and I really don't like the way she sings for example about the diamond ring:
Ma diamond ring so bling bling
I’ll show you my sexy swag
One look at me and they all fall for me
You better surrender
It feels like she is a gold digger, she will show you here sexy side if you give here diamonds... Nothing I can relate to or like.
The video then? I hate the long intro, I almost always do. But I can understand why they wanted PSY in the video, he is really big right now and it is good PR to work together with someone like that.
When the video begins I cant understand if they are serious or not. It feels like a parody with the colours, accessories and the truck and everything but then the dancing starts and suddenly it all become so serous again with the sexy message in the lyrics an all the pelvic movements.
And then you see the furry steering wheel and the clown and once again you cant decide... Maybe it is both? a parody of being sexy or a girl being sexy while shooting a parody?... This is why I don't really like the video >___<
And for being such a good dancer you don't really get to see how she is melting us with her dancing. The clean cut dance sections is mostly some hip hop steps and nothing more exciting than that.
Though, there is one scene I do like in the video. Believe it or not but it is the most sexy shot, with HyunA bathing in bubbles. If you are going to sing about being sexy then you have to have these kinds of pictures, not just crazy accessories and heavy make up. The one where she is standing behind a mans body and caresses him is also really hot.
Maybe it is time to wrap it up now? I don't have anything more to talk about I think... So I don't like the lyrics and not really the video either even if I do like sexiness... hmm... I don't know what that tell about me?...
Miss A released there last video a couple of days ago. I have watched it a few times today and I think I really like it. Miss A is a cool four member girl group that has been active since 2010. This video is the from the new album Independent Women Pt.III and I like these girls full of girl power, making a stand for them self.
To sing about not wanting to live of a boyfriends money, beeing independent, even if that means being poor, is something I feel is important and right. An these girls really make it in a nice way. One other really great thing about the video is that they have enlish
lyrics! It is so nice to fully comprehend what they are singing and
when.
The video feels kind of simple starting up with the four girls in the usual white-nothing-in-particilar-but-some-strange-wall-behind-room, a must for most k-pop videos. The talk and the easy beat get you involved and interested. The girl themselves moves with power and self confident ready to sing about being just that. They dance together at the time the song really starts and the dance itself doesn't feel really really rehearsed and perfected, even when it is synchronised, instead it is filled with a fun feeling that makes the message easier.
Later on you meet the girls separated in different "rooms" and I like these because they try to point out the girls individuality. Fei is in a bar of some kind, Suzy is in a beauty parlour and Jia in a closet/fashion room. Min's room is the only one I didn't understand. It feels high class with the throne-like chair but I can't decide what it really represent? Is she the queen?
Either way, later on the girl steps out of there "rooms" and join up together, a great symbol for being united if you ask me. They also dress up like men, maybe to show that they can be as successful and do the same work as they? Anyhow I like it, and they do feel kind of sexier in a suit than a lot of the men out there!
The band then: Even if I haven't been a big Miss A-fan (mostly because I haven't had the opportunity listen to them much)I do like some of there earlier hits and I probably will be a fan in the future if they continue like this. I like girl bands with like four or five members, more that that makes it confusing (*cough* Girls Generation*cough*), and it's even better when the girls have different styles and attribute because the members get there individuality but at the same time match each other.
The girls are all beautiful, I love Fei's hair in the video, and Suzy is always cute and hot at the same time. Min is really cool especially when she raps and Jia is really sexy and dances well. But the band have gotten some not to nice comments because they think the girl has changed there style and is trying to copy 2NE1, especially with Min's new hairstyle, she resembles Minzy from 2NE1. I myself doesn't think so. Sure the short hair can get you to think about here and yes 2NE1 is also a four member group, And the Girl Power makes they resemble each other as well, but there style is different. Miss A is a little bit more down to earth when it comes to clothes and crazy hair and the singing style is different as well. And what is the problem with being a little bit alike? It is hard not to be like someone else out there when there is so many bands. But they try to make there own things, and they are growing!
So my final words? Miss A is a cool band and together they make a not to advanced video with a fun touch, even when the lyrics is serious and I can really se myself listening to it for a long time. Go go girl power!
Today I was seraching around on youtube for japanese music, mostly for
the site I am helping out with (japan.ifokus.se). Suddenley I just heard
something awesome:
But how do you find anything about the band when all the text is in Japanese and I cant read it? You use Google! So I took a part of the titel and hoped I got the part with the bands name and not the title of the song. I was in luck. I found the Wikipedia-page for カラーボトル and almost the only word I understood was Color Bottle. Hopefully I "googeled" that together with the words Japanese band and I found it!
Color Bottle is mostly famous for there song Aoi Hana which is the opening for Casshern Sins, a shounen adventure. The song that I found and really liked I think is called Sayonara. So maybe it is a bit difficult sometimes but remember Google is your best friend (and also Google translate). If you get some words out it is easier to find. It has been a while since I have been actively listening to Japanese music, mostly because I grew tired of all the big girlband like AKB48 where the only thing they were good at was being cute (not that S.Korea is much better sometimes but at least they have some variation). But I do really love these kinds of songs, they are soft and calm and sad at the same time and makes my heart ache.
AOA (Ace Of Angels) is back with there second singel album named Wanna Be and they just released the title track MV Get Out:
Somehow this video is so divided that I dont know if I like it or not. The girls in AOA once again triumph with there cuteness and sparkles wit perfect wavy hair and make-up to perfection, a lot of pink and other pastels in both clothes and backgrounds. At the same time they sing about saying goodbye to a guy, telling him that he is nothing and the girl just spent time with him because he was pitiful. Were did the angel-theme go? Because I think that kind of confession would get them send right downstairs if you know what I mean.
the again I like the "girl power" they have in the chorus with drums and that cute punk-rock style on some of the members. Its like they are screaming "just because we are girls we don't need a man to survive. we can be cute and strong at the same time" and some of the lyrics is maybe on the same track because here it more feels like the girls negativity towards the boy they sing to comes from sorrow, that they have to be mean towards him, telling him that he is a fool, as a way to get over being dumped by him. But still, there is the hapy-go-lucky smiles on everyone and the happy colours that still makes me confused. Because they can still be cute even if the don't smile from ear to ear. Some of the feelings is really lost in the song. And then we have the whole cosplay thing! WTF? sure, I like good cosplay and they do it good in the video, but what exactly is Lara Croft, Hermione form Harry Potter and The Bride from Kill Bill (and some more) doing there? Sure they are all strong women but... Yeah, I don't really get it. I am also really tired of the short-hotpants-showing-the-leg-parts in like every girl band MV. We have already seen it, come up with something else! Sure they have nice legs, and sure there asses is also really great (I can give them that even if I don't swing that way), but they have to have some other good parts as well?
Another thing that I started thinking about was the play back, yes I know you aren't suppose to sing in the video itself, you have to use play back and add the music later. But hello! the girls can at least try to look as if they are singing. Sometimes I was just wondering if they really think you can sing like that without opening the mouth. Yes, they want to look good but in my eyes this way is not the right way. I listen to music because I want the singing most, the looks comes later. If they in the video doesn't show that they even like to sing when they are suppose to do it then I loose my interest and it also makes them look like a stupid fish... So, now after my criticism what do I think as a whole? The song is still happy and a little strong (especially after studying the lyrics) and I think I want to add it to my music player on my phone. But I don't like the video, it is to much and to confusing, it really didn't have to be. It feels like the people behind this want to promote the girls to much, want to add a lot of different things to get it interesting, when the only thing they really needed to do was to let the girls cuteness and coolness be in focus. They look good and the song is quite good but they didn't really work with that so... To much! What do you think?
Yes, once again I am writing about music (I have to come up with something else soon...). But this time it is a Japanese singer I want to promote. Her stagename is Miwa and she debuted into the japanese music industry a couple of years ago and became a huge success in a short time. I came in contact with her voice first trough a Bleach-video on Youtube (she made the 12th opening for the anime) and later on trough the soundtrack for the j-drama Rich Man, Poor Woman.
I finds it wonderful (and a bit scaring) that Miwa is only 25 days older than me and is so fantastic. I myself struggle with my day to day life without being able to do anything like that. She has a wonderful voice and it is the thing about her that I fell in love with. The best of her songs are the ones that is calm, a little sad, and acoustic, like her debut song Don't Cry Anymore:

The First time I watched the video I really didn't know what to expect. The first few seconds was not very good for my liking, I am sensitive when it comes to the beginning of a video. I hate intros that isn't really a part of the song, when they have a prologue or pre-story, worst of all is when someone is talking. So my first thought was that I was afraid that they would ruin the video already in the beginning, but no, it wasn't so bad.
With the opening of the song itself I felt calmer and the single shots of the duo was an good way to start it up and the first words made it even better. Then it is time for the dance and once again I started to worry. WTF is that fist bump-thingie? and then they mirror each other and lean from side to side like a little kid that think he is driving a car. But then they starts to really dance, together with the background dancers, and man do they take the robot and glow stick dance to a new level! Yes, that is what I think when I watch it. Everything in the video screams futuristic, the clothes with the metal/robot arms, the dance and the sound. I can hear the special sound of TVXQ in the music but it isn't one of my favourites. The electric noises is a little to much for me and ruin some of it. I would probably like it more if it was a soundtrack to a movie like Transformers than what I do when I listening to it as a regular song.

Except for the dance the video is very boring. The settings is very plain even if I can understand the ailien/spaceship reference it gives almost non variation. I have also grown tired of these glowing walls sets that is in like every music video right now and the dancing in water is also starting to get the better of me even if it was cool in the beginning. So it is just the dance that for me keep this video at least a little interesting. They move, together with the background dancers, like a unit. I especially love when they finish each others moves and complete each other. The "flying dragon" arms is also quite cool if you ask me.
I also have to address the question of how this video matches the song? They sing about how they want somebody to catch them, how they love this unknown somebody and how the don't want to leave this person. The only ting I can come up with is that Yunho and Changmin really are aliens and that they now have to go home to there real planet and they don't want to leave even if they are tired. They want the unknown person (maybe the fans) to scream and cry and beg them not to go... Hmm, this can really get you thinking... Back on topic; as a whole I think the video is okey to watch but it isn't "keep your head down" material if you know what I mean. The dance is quite cool, the lyrics is nice if you give it some time and the flying dragon arms is a personal favourite. So yes, it is okey.
Jag har velat gjort det här inlägget i flera dagar men det har hela tiden kommit saker emellan. Men nu äntligen! U-KISS har i veckan kommit ut med sin nya låt som dessutom är huvudspåret på deras sjunde minialbum med samma namn.
Till och börja med måste det nämnas att videon förekommer i två versioner, först den svart-vita och sedan en i färg. Dock är den i färg svår att få tag i och jag har klumpat mig och tappat bort länken till den färgglada "dolda" videon på Youtube. Strunt samma, jag föredrar den i svartvitt facktiskt!
När man granskar texten till Stop Girl så är den ganska gripande då den handlar om en kille som älskar sin flickvän men de har så mycket stridigheter och liknande mellan sig att han nu är trött och vill lägga av. En text som ger videon och låten ett djup. Musiken känns väldigt mycket som U-KISS också, man hör att det är en av deras låtar och det är ett bevis i min värld för att man hittat sin egen plats som band/musiker. Man ska ha det där egna soundet.
Till detta tycker jag den här svartvita videon faktiskt passar, den blir på något sätt stilren och låter låten få det utrymme den förtjänar. Trots det blir det inte tråkigt. Hur kan det bli det när snygga killar dansar så pass bra som pojkarna i U-KISS gör? Det ser även genomtänkt ut med kläder m.m. som gör att man får kontraster i videon med olika mönster och färger.
Appropå dansen, så måste jag säga att mina favoritögonblick är när två av killarna, jag tror det är Kevin och Soohyun, (sorry alla Kissmes om jag har fel!) dansar ensam med en tjej. Speciellt Kevin på det schackrutiga golvet. Både coolt och HOT! För övrigt så är det just dessa kvinnliga bakgrundsdansare som ger videon något nytt, vad jag minns har de inte haft så här många olika kvinnor i en video tidigare?
Tidigare har jag sagt mig inte vara något särskilt stort fan till U-KISS men de senaste dagarna har det gått upp för mig att de på löpande band serverar låtar jag verkligen gillar, kanske är det dags att tänka om?
Det första jag tänkte när jag hörde den här låten var "schlager", den skulle utan vidare passa in i melodifestivalen, gärna för ett par år sedan. Med detta menar jag egentligen inget negativt om SPICA, för att vara en så pass ny grupp (de debuterade i Januari i år) så känns de rutinerade och just den här låten får i alla fall mig att gå runt och smånynna I'll Be There om och om igen.
Budskapet i texten handlar ju främst om tillit och delad styrka, det låter som om tjejerna sjunger till sina "pojkvänner" att de inte alltid behöver vara starka och ensamma utan att de stöttar varandra. Ett budskap som faktiskt känns lite passande.
Sen kommer det då till videon. För mig kändes den ganska tråkig, jag tror jag ledsnat på att se ett gäng tjejer dansa i ett nästan helt vitt rum i över halva videon. Något positivt om det är i alla fall att de har jeans på sig under de scenerna, inga kortkorta kjolar eller shorts som visar kilometervis med ben (även nu om de visar rätt mycket hud mellan tröjan och byxorna samt i hålen runt knäna). De spelar på en coolare och kanske lite oskyldigare stil som jag själv föredrar, i alla fall för de här flickorna.
Sen kommer vi till DJ-båset. Jag kan bara säga "No freaking way, de har en ko!". För att ha gått från en ganska medelmåttig video så blir de lite mer intressant, det sticker i alla fall ut. Jag fann mig själv sittandes och leta efter den där kossan genom resten av videon första gången jag såg den.
Hur känns då enheten? Det är ju inte en dålig video eller låt, men det är inte världsomvälvande heller utan ganska medelmåttig. Jag måste tyvärr säga att inte ens en ko kan göra att vi kommer ifrån det. Men den är värd att lyssna på emellanåt ändå, speciellt när man behöver lyftas upp av något.
Det första jag tänkte när jag startade videon var "OMFG! Nu gäller det att koncentrera sig här. Vad tänkte de på?" Efter att ha kikat på videon några gånger nu efter varandra så blir låten lite lättare att hantera men det kommer nog inte bli en av mina favoriter.
Jag blev så kär i G-Dragon's That XX att mina förväntningar nog var på ett annat plan. That XX var lugn och vacker, fylld med kärlek och längtan och akompanjerad med en enkel gittar. En kombination som går rätt in i hjärtat på mig. En sån låt jag kan skratta av lycka och gråta av sorg till. Och sen kommer det här?
Visst kan jag förstå att Crayon är gjord för att visa GD's "roligare" sidor, och visst framkommer det tydligt i videon med alla galna kläder, färger, dunsande musik m.m. Eller vad säger ni om badringsankan? Eller pinocchio-näsan (som för övrigt växer och står när han kollar på flickors rumpor, bara jag som får dirty thoughts?). Eller varför inte GD utklädd till tjej?
Nu när jag tänker på det kanske det är det som är poängen med det hela? Att som när man låter ett barn leka fullt ut med kritor så blir det bara en salig blandning av alltihop? "Get your crayon!" är ett sätt att släppa lös fantasin, ta bort allvaret och göra det på ett coolt sätt. Men för mig faller det lite på att det bara känns som om de slängt in
lite av allt möjligt och gjort en video av det. Jag får i alla fall
ingen rätsida på det hela. Jag tycker att om de nu satsar på att få lite
swag genom att släppa loss, behövs det i så fall lite mer stil i det
hela.
Fast strunt samma, GD är ju i alla fall söt i en sån galen miljö, så det är ju något man kan koncentrera sig på, och sen glömmer vi lägligt bort det andra? Jag kommer nog i alla fall i fortsättningen, när jag kollar mig i spegeln på morgonen, köra en "swag check", precis som GD verkar göra.
